Automated distribution of test results
Duplication systems are at the heart of medical information distribution solutions supporting medical imaging and electronic medical records (EDM). Based on powerful hardware and software, digital publishing systems integrate perfectly with medical PACS stations. For many years, optical media duplicators have been successfully used in ZDOs, in the process of recording and issuing test results on CDs. The devices can write data to CDs and DVDs.
The duplicator for medical applications automates the process of recording plates and personalizes them (individual patient data printing is taken from the DICOM collection). In this way, the possibility of mistakenly issuing a test to patients in registration is eliminated. The cost of issuing a patient's examination result on film is several times higher than the cost of purchasing a CD, moreover, the results of multiple hospital examinations of the same patient can be saved on a single carrier. The cost of the investment, assuming the performance of 30,000 examinations per year, pays for itself in one year.
Most often, the devices are equipped with a recorder and an inkjet or thermal-transfer printer that prints on the discs. The duplicator can produce up to 10,000 discs per month, which averages 330 discs per day. An important feature of the equipment is the durability and reliability of the robotics. Efficient magazines hold a minimum of 150 discs at a time, and an external magazine allows the issuance of a test, without stopping operation of the device. The process of recording and printing a single disc is fast, and the discs produced by the equipment are immediately ready for use, which is the case with thermal transfer printing.
Key features of the medical duplicator:
- No confusion in the issuance of results (print related study);
- Saving the radiologist's time - release from the obligation to record and describe the plates;
- short release time of the study;
- Streamlining the work of registration;
- Reduction of generated research costs;
- Warranty extension to 7 years;
- on-site service throughout Poland.
The undoubted advantage of the system is the possibility of centrally issuing test results in the registration and relieving the burden on the staff, as the whole process is completely automatic. Thanks to special software, the duplicator accepts data in the DICOM standard. The software allows data to be downloaded from the PACS system and recorded on discs, along with an internal viewer that supports files in DICOM format. The medical duplicator is a comprehensive solution for streamlining the work in the hospital's dispensing point for test results - registration.
