Supermicro adds fourth-generation AMD EPYC processors to its portfolio

Supermicro is complementing its data center IT solutions with fourth-generation AMD EPYC™ processors, delivering record performance for the most critical workloads. All new single-socket and dual-socket servers-for cloud, AI/ML, HPC, HCI and enterprise applications-include up to 192 cores, up to 12TB of DDR5-4800MHz 12-channel memory and up to 160 PCIe 5.0 ports, for use by the most advanced applications.

(NASDAQ: SMCI), a provider of end-to-end IT solutions for cloud, AI/ML, storage and 5G/Edge, announces a significant addition to its already extensive product line with servers supporting new 4th generation AMD EPYC processors. These innovative Supermicro systems will change the way businesses analyze massive amounts of data, run complex simulations and can lower total cost of ownership (TCO). With the new servers based on AMD EPYC 4th generation processors, eight new world records have been set, adding to the more than 50 world records previously set.

Supermicro's servers are designed to support the latest AMD EPYC 9004 series processor cores, each with up to 96 cores and 3 TB of memory per processor. Up to 160 PCIe 5.0 connectors are available on dual-processor systems, with eight bonus PCIe 3.0 or 4.0 ports for less demanding peripheral connections. All 4th-generation AMD EPYC processors include a suite of state-of-the-art security features to help keep data safe, whether in use, on the fly or in the store.

"Supermicro is once again leading the industry with some of the first systems to provide end-to-end IT solutions based on AMD EPYC 9004 series processors. Our block architecture gives us a first-to-market advantage and enables Supermicro to deliver application-optimized servers to meet the growing demands of our customers. We incorporate the latest technologies into a variety of solutions and platforms - including 96-core processors, DDR5 memory, PCIe 5.0 storage, networking, gas pedals and CXL 1.1+ peripherals. Our highly configurable systems are designed for the highest TDP processors, which can be liquid-cooled, significantly increase per-watt performance, are customized to meet specific customer requirements and have a reduced TCO. Ideal for AI applications, our high-performance GPU servers support NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs and will also work well for metaverse applications."
