Durabook introduces new 2 in 1 solution

Durabook has been honored with two prestigious ASTORS 2021 awards. The fully ruggedized U11 tablet received platinum status in the Best Handheld Mobile Tech Solution category. The S14I Semi-Rugged laptop, meanwhile, earned gold status in the Best Data Storage Security Solution category. The ASTORS Homeland Security Awards are presented annually by American Security Today magazine. The winners were announced at a gala luncheon held in New York.

The poll recognizing Durabook recognizes outstanding innovations by top companies and agencies in the field of homeland and public security. It is the most important U.S. awards program of its kind, recognizing the most innovative and forward-thinking solutions coming to market. Durabook has already been a recipient of the ASTORS Homeland Security Awards in 2017, existing then under the name GammaTech Computer.

"It is a great honor to receive these awards. We are dedicated to the people who serve in the homeland and public security professions, as they put their lives on the line for us and our country every day. The compact U11 provides the reliability, power and functionality that is essential in today's tough environments. The S14I, on the other hand, is in a class of its own - it's designed to combine military-grade ruggedness, mobile functionality, computing performance and long battery life for uninterrupted use. We thank American Security Today for recognizing these two products."

Durabook S14I Semi-Rugged: the ultimate in data storage security

In homeland security applications, the S14I is primarily used as an edge device for data collection and processing, source data visualization, machine-to-machine communication, etc. In drone-related applications, the device has the processing and storage power to analyze and map data from multiple drones directly from the edge - decentralized data processing in close proximity to the devices themselves. In addition, the device can combine other data from the field, such as from IoT and external sources, such as weather information, to help plan new flight routes or arrange for immediate repairs. The laptop is equipped with a smart card reader, fingerprint scanner and hardware-based encryption (Trusted Platform Module (TPM 2.0)) to ensure the security of sensitive data storage. In addition to software-based encryption, hardware-based encryption can be used.

The device also features modern NVMe PCIe SSD technology, providing up to 1TB of storage. Two additional internal SATA III SSDs can be connected to it, maximizing data storage. In addition, the media bay offers several configuration options.
