Ricoh scanner software platform - PaperStream introduces two new fuctions. These are direct enrollment to cloud storage services and assistance in creating profiles for a better OCR process.
Two new features have recently been added to the PaperStream series, which consists of drivers and software for fi and SP series image scanners. The supported PaperStream software varies in the scanning procedure, depending on the scanner model and the batch jobs being performed. "PaperStream Connector Option" is a new feature added to the PaperStream series software, including PaperStream Capture, PaperStream Capture Pro, PaperStream ClickScan and PaperStream NX Manager. With this option, the software provides the scanning process with access to a wider range of destination options for scanned data (even fragile documents), including cloud storage services (related cloud scan storage services include Microsoft SharePoint Online, Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive and Dropbox), email via SMTP server and Internet fax (requires subscription to Internet fax service). You can increase your productivity by sending scanned data of a variety of documents directly to popular cloud storage services, or by emailing and faxing them.
The " PaperStream IPOCR Optimization Assistant for fi Series" is available for thePaperStream IP (TWAIN) scanner driver. The tool helps you configure your scanning profile and is especially useful for documents that require higher OCR accuracy, such as documents with halftones or stamps. By automatically adjusting the image quality for better OCR results, the tool eliminates the need for manual adjustments by users and once the batch is scanned, the user processes the image through interfaces and the software platform. This represents the right way for professional scanners with flexible scanning capabilities. No additional consumables are required - enough for service without burdening users with additional costs.

Seamless saving of scanned data with more file generation destinations
With the "PaperStream Connector Option" installed, users can access a wider range of destinations for saving scanned data in PaperStream Capture/Capture Pro, PaperStream ClickScan and PaperStream NX Manager. You can set up a cloud storage service as a storage destination and make connections to email or fax services. With the addition of two new features to PaperStream, scanning when business requirements change and going online is less of a problem for the scanning process.
Byallowing scanned data to be saved directly to a cloud storage service, manual transfer is no longer required. This feature is also useful in situations where saving scanned data to a local folder is not recommended due to security concerns required by a business application.
What's more, this option is especially beneficial for users who frequently send documents by fax, as it allows to reduce costs by replacing the traditional method of sending scanned data by e-mail or Internet fax by enterprise units. Here also useful is the function of automatic skew alignment and changes in search parameters, required formats (document widths), the ability to preview documents, reliability requirements. Configure scanning profiles to improve OCR accuracy
"PaperStream IP OCR Optimization Assistant for fi Series" analyzes images in specific areas and adjusts image quality for documents containing halftones or stamps that require OCR for post-processing or editing. The tool (depends on the version of PaperStream Capture Pro)suggests a better scanning profile after analysis if it detects an image quality setting that improves recognition speed compared to the default setting during scanning. It is also possible to change the scan configuration, so the user can change orders regardless of the given driver profile.
A final convenience is the ability to save the created scan profile for later use in existing applications such as PaperStream Capture. Easily obtaining automatically generated optimum image quality for OCR accuracy without any expertise, you can save time setting up the profile while making efficient use of the scanned data. Professional advanced scanning functions do not take local load into account - they work independently, so resuming scanning operations (with preferred scanning parameters) of large document volumes on Ricoh scanner with optical character recognition is very simple and does not require software replacement. For scanning, users can also use manual feed mode when working on PaperStream Capture or other software.
