The fi-8170 scanner provides fast and reliable color scanning, and with an estimated daily scanning volume of 10,000 sheets, it can work hard without taking up valuable space. Automatic separation control ensures smooth business operation, and multiple-feed detection minimizes jams. The manual feed mode can read copy forms, stickered documents, A3 documents folded in half and booklets up to 7mm thick.

Software to support end-to-end productivity
Fi series scanners come with scanner driver PaperStream IP and PaperStream Capture software, which increases productivity by reducing the number of pre- and post-scanning operations. Frequent manual operations, such as deleting blank pages, can be reduced using the Setup Assistant in PaperStream Capture. Extract information from the Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) for efficient entry of customer information from passports and ID cards.
