Industry needs smart power - Eaton 93PM G2 UPS

Let's try to imagine it:
Production lines, hundreds of machines, thousands of sensors - mainly IoT. On top of that: control systems, operator stations, extensive computer networks with routers and firewalls, IT systems that supervise production, computer links - communications and telecommunications. All these elements require power supply, which by itself - even reliable - is not enough. What is needed are advanced power supply solutions, that is, solutions that use the latest technologies, are oriented towards protection and cyber security, and are characterized by high efficiency and intelligence. A manufacturer whose solutions fit in with the ideas of Industry 4.0 is Eaton. Solutions from this manufacturer are widely used in server rooms local, cloud, on-premise, but also for powering selected critical components of production lines.
From Eaton's wide range of solutions, we chose a high-power UPS. It is an integral part of the IT and telecommunications infrastructure. This power unit is equipped with a high-speed connection interface, uses network protocols and is integrated with modern management and data protection software.
High power guaranteed power supply - Eaton 93PM G2
The second-generation Eaton 93PM is equipment of the highest caliber - a three-phase power supply operating in double conversion topology. Communication with the devices of this series is extremely intuitive, and is carried out through interaction with the graphic panel or via the network.
The efficiency of these power supplies in double conversion mode is up to 96.7%. With such a high unit output, this means noticeable savings in operating costs. Thanks to the integrated functions of the Variable Module Management System (VMMS), maximum efficiency is also maintained at low load. This is particularly important in redundant systems, which are required to have the highest level of reliability.
The power supplies in this series have a modular design - we can add additional elements to the power supply body (a single one is 50kVA/50kW or 60kVA/54kW), up to 6 of them. HotSync® technology will eliminate the risk of a single point of failure - thanks to it, there is no need for logical communication between units working in parallel. The power supplies are equipped with a number of additional solutions such as backfeed protection and built-in bypass path fuses. This is intended to provide even greater safety.
Modules can be replaced in hot-swap mode, while the device is running, maintaining power continuity - the load is taken over by the remaining modules and online operation is maintained. A newly installed module automatically synchronizes with the existing ones. This eliminates the risk of user error, thereby reducing the need for downtime for unit service, significantly improving the so-called average repair time - MTTR.
To manage its UPS infrastructure, Eaton provides its long-proven Intelligent Power Manager software. Thanks to this software and its cyber-security-ready solutions, the potential threat from cyber attacks against Eaton UPS systems is significantly reduced. For the user, this means greater confidence that a key component of their power infrastructure is adequately protected from outside attack.
The solution shown above is part of Eaton's extensive UPS offering to meet the requirements of industrial systems. The 93PM G2 series power supplies are a great option for medium and large data centers, for powering critical components of control systems, production lines in industrial plants, important commercial infrastructure. All of Eaton's power supply lines are united by a consistent communications concept, the ability to connect to the world - both via standard network protocols and IoT environmental protocols - in integration with Eaton's Intelligent Power Manager management software.
