Top-Loading and Simply Double - storage solutions from Supermicro

The growth of applications and the continuous increase in the amount of stored data has meant that 24-bay and 36-bay solutions are no longer sufficient.

Nowadays - in so-called ColdStorage solutions - ever-increasing data packing density and even lower failure rates are expected. Supermicro has ideally met these requirements by refreshing its offer with the new generation of 3rd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processor platforms. Currently the most popular 60- and 90-bay storage systems are now available with the new Intel technology. Supermicro has also added a new generation to its Simply Double servers. The choice of platform depends on the available space - 60-bay and 90-bay platforms occupy 4U in a rack. If you need high packing and much higher performance and speed in accessing data, Supermicro offers Simply Double servers that allow up to 24 hot-swap 3.5" drives in 2U.

The platforms are optimized for the latest generation of Intel Xeon Scalable processor and NVMe PCIE 4.0 drives.

Top-loading 60-bay and 90-bay systems are available in Single-node, Dual-node and dual-node HA options. With the new systems, customers can take advantage of the full potential offered by the SAS controller's PCIE 4.0 RAID or IT mode. The height of these rack solutions is 4U, and they support 60- and 90-bays of 2.5" and 3.5" SAS3/SATA3 plus two m.2 PCIe on the motherboard and two internal SATA SSD slots. Single node systems, of course, support mirror OS via two 2.5" hot-swap slots, on the rear, and an optional four NVMe U.2 slots available as an option on single and dual node systems.

Simply Double systems support 16 DIMM slots and up to four additional NVMe U.2 drives. Airflow has been improved in the new platforms, so the entire environment will operate at an even more optimal temperature, which has a huge impact on even greater uptime of SuperMicro systems. The systems can be available with PCIE 4.0-based controllers in RAID and IT mode.
