SAN storage - Infortrend EonStor DS
EonStor DS is a high-availability SAN storage solution certified by Milestone VMS (Video Management System - video management software). It guarantees reliable and continuous video recording. Users can connect the DS series to an NVR (Network Video Recorder) server and IP cameras. As a result, they gain a video surveillance system with a capacity of more than 5 PB, allowing 180 days of data retention from 500 IP cameras with 3MP resolution. The DS series range includes cost-effective single-controller models and high-availability models with dual controllers. Users can choose enclosures of different sizes. For example, the DS 1000 includes a 2U chassis for 12 drives, 3U for 16 drives and 4U for 24 drives. For environments with limited space and very high performance requirements, a 4U-high DS 3000 with 60 drives is also possible.
A prime example is a project at one of Infortrend's customers. Due to limited rack space in the data center and the need to record the video stream from 2,500 cameras, it was decided to choose the DS 3000 with 60 disk bays along with similar expansion shelves, achieving a capacity of about 4PB and consistent performance to guarantee stable recording quality.
Unified storage - Infortrend EonStor GS
The GS series is a high-availability solution that integrates SAN, NAS and cloud gateway services offering companies a powerful hybrid cloud environment. A single GS system is capable of supporting 2,000 3MP IP cameras offering data retention times of up to 180 days. In addition to operating in regular SAN or NAS storage mode, users can also manage data more flexibly by transferring video files to a public or private cloud treated as primary storage or remote backup.
The entire GS product line is distinguished by its durable and versatile hardware design. We include redundant major components, a variety of formats, flexible motherboards to choose from, and a stable modular design. It has high expandability. As for the software, it comes with comprehensive data support and EonOne. It is an intuitive platform that helps IT personnel with system monitoring and administration.
Horizontally scalable shared storage - EonStor CS
CS is a horizontally scalable storage with a capacity of over 100PB and a performance of 100 GB/s. The largest of the CS family, a single 4U-sized model with 60 drives is capable of supporting 3,000 3MP IP cameras with retention of up to 180 days. This makes it possible to meet the needs of surveillance projects requiring very large amounts of storage. If more capacity is needed, the CS Series allows for both horizontal and vertical expansion. Simply add more nodes of CS devices to form a cluster (horizontal scaling - scale out) or an expansion chassis to an existing node (vertical scaling - scale in).
In addition to its high scalability, CS is built with multi-layered data protection at the level of hard drives, nodes and clusters. Should any of these components fail, data will not be lost and system performance will not be affected. CS is ideal for large-scale video surveillance projects or mission-critical applications.
