EonStor CS is a scalable NAS storage system that addresses the vastly increasing amount of unstructured data faced by modern enterprises. It provides high performance, large capacity and robust data protection along with flexible scalability. Initial deployment can start with just one CS appliance, allowing more nodes to be added to the cluster later to increase performance and capacity on demand. All CS storage nodes form a cluster within a single namespace to eliminate data silos.

High performance, ready for your requirements

EonStor CS provides throughput of up to 100+ GB/s, which is best suited for large file applications. High-performance U.2 NVMe hybrid flash memory delivers better performance with lower latency and speeds of up to 18 GB/s in a 3-node cluster.

By clustering multiple nodes within a single namespace and automatically balancing data between different nodes, CS solves the problem of single node performance limitations and effectively improves access performance.

Scale up storage only when needed

As a scalable NAS storage system, EonStor CS provides scalable expansion to help manage ever-growing amounts of data as your business grows. To increase performance and capacity, simply add additional CS devices (or "nodes") to the clustered system, both during and after initial setup. This flexible but powerful scaling option connects up to 144 CS nodes together and provides 100 GB/s read/write speeds with 100 PB of storage.

Scalability expansion is also available when capacity can be increased by connecting external expansion enclosures (or "JBODs") to a single CS node, with up to 120 drives in total. This option provides a large capacity, yet affordable solution that meets the needs of large data storage and backup.

 

Better storage performance at lower cost

EonStor CS includes inline compression and offline deduplication functions, reducing the required storage capacity, thereby saving further storage costs.

EonStor CS achieves high storage performance with hybrid storage. A CS cluster can be a flexible combination of SSD nodes, HDD nodes and expansion enclosures. Based on the hybrid architecture, you can store frequently used "hot data" on SSDs and less frequently used data on HDDs, taking advantage of the speed of SSDs and the low price of HDDs.

In addition, EonStor CS supports automatic tiering, which helps automatically move data between SSDs and HDDs based on data access frequency. With this feature, you can easily use SSDs for high-performance I/O and HDDs for archiving massive amounts of data, thus optimizing storage performance and increasing ROI.

Protect your data from potential failures

EonStor CS offers complete data protection, from disks, nodes to system backups, providing businesses with service continuity while reducing the stress of data management.

  • At the disk level, EonStor CS uses Infortrend's RAID technology, which helps the system operate normally and provides full data protection, even if one of the hard drives is damaged.
  • For SSDs, data will be intentionally written to some SSDs without affecting overall performance, protecting data from the failure of multiple SSDs at the same time.
  • At the file level, EonStor CS supports Replica and Erasure Code protection mechanisms to generate redundant data across all nodes, avoiding downtime resulting from a single node failure. When a node failure is detected, CS initiates a self-repair function to recover data from the failed node.
  • At the folder level, Infortrend CS-series arrays provide remote folder replication (Rsync). By remotely backing up files at the folder level, CS not only prevents production downtime caused by local storage failure, but also duplicates the access control list (ACL) of files.

When it comes to data backup, CS works seamlessly with industry-leading backup software such as Veeam, Veritas and Commvault. For Veeam backup and restore, CS has achieved the Veeam Ready Repository classification, exceeding performance requirements for processes such as full backup, full VM restore, synthetic full backup and instant VM recovery.

In addition, CS offers a built-in backup service feature that allows direct backup of data from file servers to CS without the need for additional backup software.

Ensure business continuity through high availability

EonStor CS is equipped with a variety of high availability designs, from network interfaces, redundant hardware components, node configurations, to maintenance and upgrade methods - all of which have been carefully considered to ensure service continuity.

A group of network interfaces not only enables bandwidth aggregation, but also prevents single path failures.

Besides, the CS also has a redundant design of hardware components, including the power supply, FAN module, contributing to hardware availability: when one component stops working, the other continues to provide power and heat dissipation; moreover, the components are modular, making them easy to maintain.

To prevent downtime caused by node failure, EonStor CS supports various node protection mechanisms to recover data from a failed node.

Finally, the firmware for CS can also be upgraded without cluster downtime to ensure cluster service continuity.

Easy storage management

EonStor CS simplifies storage management from configuration to operation, easing the burden on IT in a demanding environment.

Simple setup in 30 minutes. With the help of Infortrend Cluster Deployer and Initialization Wizard, an administrator needs only five minutes to go through the entire deployment process, and system initialization will be completed within 30 minutes, after which the cluster will be ready for operation.

Easy to manage with EonOne, even non-IT staff can do it. EonOne is a web-based, graphical management interface designed for CS. Even people without an IT background can easily learn how to configure their CS cluster.

Easily manage all data in a single namespace. A CS cluster stores tens of PBs of data in a single namespace, allowing IT staff to centrally manage all data, eliminating data islands. The CS cluster architecture does not require additional metadata servers or client-side agent software, reducing the administrative burden.

Media & Entertainment (M&E)
