Arcserve UDP - efficient backup of physical and virtual servers with effective data deduplication

ARCserve UDP - Unified Data Protection
ARCserve UDP software runs on physical servers running MS Windows and on Linux systems from the Red Hat, CentOS, Suse, Debian and Ubuntu families. It also provides full protection for Vmware ESX, Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV and Citrix XenServer virtual servers
ARCserve UDP allows you to:
- Very fast backup to all types of disk storage;
- Backup of virtual machines without the need to install an agent, using the mechanism of Vmware VADP, Microsoft VSS, Nutanix AHV.
- Backup of physical servers.
- Global data deduplication.
- Deduplication of data at the source on protected servers, thus reducing the load on the LAN.
- Incremental backup at the disk block level without the need for repeated full backups using I2's patented Infinite Incremental technology.
- Real-time replication of data copy warehouses, while providing global data deduplication between remote warehouses.
- Reproduction on brand new equipment with a different hardware configuration.
- Restore individual files from a backup of the entire machine.
- Backup of a Microsoft Exchange server with the ability to restore individual mailboxes and emails. This functionality is also available for a full backup of an entire virtual machine.
- Backup MS SQL server with the ability to restore databases, also from a full backup of the entire virtual machine.
- Restore individual Active Directory objects and their properties from a system volume backup and for full authoritative AD restoration in the event of a system failure.
- Oracle server backup on Windows with granular recovery of database, tables, control file, parameter file and archive logs.
- Online backup of Actian (formerly Pervasive) PSQL v11 server with database-level recovery.
- The ability to search for data and playback by the user, not just by the administrator.
- Transfer the performed disk backups to tape media and then restore the data directly from the tape media.
- Creation of Virtual Standby servers, which, in case of failure of the physical primary server, take over its functions. This is possible by converting server images made with ARCserve UDP software into virtual machine files.

ARCserve UDP software licenses
ARCserve UDP software licenses for virtual machines can be purchased on a per-processor model. In this case, depending on the number of processors in the physical hypervisor machine (Vmware ESX, Microsoft Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV, Citrix Xen), you only need to purchase 1 or 2 licenses (possibly more).
Several types of ARCserve UDP Socket (per processor) licenses are available:
- The ARCserve UDP Standard license allows backup of any number of VMs at the disk machine block level; either using the UDP client or without it using ESX VADP, MS VSS or Nutanix AHV API.
- The ARCserve UDP Advanced license includes all the functionality of the Standard license and allows online protection of MS SQL and MS Exchange servers.
- License ARCserve UDP Premium includes all the functionality of the Advanced license. This license also allows you to:
- Installation on any number of virtual machines of any ARCserve Backup for Windows software agents (file backup), whether file system clients, database agents or mail servers;
- Installation of ARCserve Backup for Windows backup server software on a separate physical server, with support for a multi-drive tape library. This license allows the most cost-effective construction of Arcserve Backup for Windows backup environment for machines.
