Features

The fi-7160 scanner comes in black and white colors. Its weight is 4.2 kg, and its compact dimensions of 300 x 170 x 163 significantly help it find space on your desk. Office tasks are sure to benefit from the upward curved output tray, noise reduction and features that make paper capture easier. The automatic feeder holds up to 80 sheets of paper and captures documents of various sizes (e.g., receipts, invoices). The ADF provides continuous feeding of mixed batches of documents, of different weights and sizes. The maximum length of the supported document is 5588 cm. The Fujitsu scanner can handle documents with sticky notes, receipts and labels stuck to the pages, as well as scan hard and embossed credit cards and badges up to 1.4 mm thick. Ultrasonic sensors detect and protect documents from double-take. The upper right side of the scanner features an LCD display that, combined with up/down arrows, allows control of the device's functions. The fi-7160 scanner model is twinned with the Fujitsu fi-7260, which has a built-in flatbed scanner for scanning books and other delicate materials.

Software

The software package includes PaperStream IP, Twain and ISIS drivers, the PaperStream Capture scanning tool along with ScanSnap Manager for the fi series, which allows you to route scans to Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Abbyy FineReader, which works with ScanSnap Manager, provides optical character recognition (OCR) to convert scans into text documents, and Scanner Central Admin gives IT departments the ability to manage an entire fleet of scanners. An important step in the scanning process is reading information from the image, and one of the most important tools is the barcode value reading module, which we can use to, among other things, separate documents, sort files or even name output files.

Speed

The Fujitsu fi-7160 scanner digitizes 60 pages per minute when scanning single-sided. Scanning double-sided it is already 120 pages per minute. Fast scanning is done without loss of quality because the scanner maintains 200 - 300 dpi when scanning in all modes and colors. Estimated daily load is about 4,000 sheets.

OCR

The Fi-7160 comes with Abbyy FineReader OCR software, which works with ScanSnap Manager. The program is stable and very efficient - as befits a market leader. It handles fonts like Arial or the most popular Times New Roman without any problems. It also works well when working on different shades of text fonts.
