The experience gained paid off in the form of the launch of a new line of fi-8000 document scanners. The new devices, include up to 32 patented technologies and, an industry first, innovative features and solutions that help customers with workflow and data extraction. One example is Clear Image Capture (CIC) technology, which ensures extremely accurate quality of scanned images.

The Fujitsu fi-8170 is one of the new models of the 8000 series. In it we can use a traditional USB connection or scan directly into an application. The scanner can process a wide range of documents like Receipts, Invoices, Bills and other documents used in businesses. The advantage of the scanner is that it can scan thick documents like passports, leaflets or brochures up to 7 mm. Which influences the wide application of the scanner in such sectors as public, financial, health care, education, manufacturing and trade.

Key features

• Manual feed mode - allows feeding and scanning of forms, bonded papers and documents folded in two in A3 format. We can scan passports and booklets up to 7 mm without having to "sandwich" them between sheets of media.
• Automatic separation control - New to the industry, the feature combined with a high-capacity tray allows high volume scanning of up to 100 sheets at a time and 70 sheets per minute. Fully eliminates jams and interruptions during scanning.
• Monitor document position - NEW Intelligent Sonic Paper Protection (ISOP) technology "listens" for unusual sounds (such as paper creasing) and immediately stops the scanner if detected, preventing document damage.
• Multi-sheet detection - now it's even easier to scan batches containing different types of documents. Thick plastic cards, documents with stickers, photos or other self-adhesive labels are detected automatically, so there is no need to change profiles depending on the type of document.
• Scanning control - fi-8170 detects crooked documents and protects them from damage. It ensures that all data is captured, eliminating the possibility of omission.
