During traditional scanning, notes taken in pencil are not readable, and the circled text is converted into dark elements. The text cannot be read. In Kofax Express, pencil writing is darkened. The application recognizes highlighters and removes the unnecessary background. This makes text written in pencil or notes circled in bright colors readable.
Bright logos or watermarks are converted during traditional scanning, into dark graphic elements, and text on colored backgrounds used, for example, in forms is not readable. The Kofax Express application, thanks to the VRS function, converts low-contrast logos and text contained on colored backgrounds into so-called "dot matrices," so the scanned document can be read without any difficulty.
When scanning only with standard software, small-sized documents such as receipts or checks are often skewed. The Kofax Express application automatically straightens scanned documents and the background that could reduce the readability of the file is lightened or removed.

The presence of barcodes on scanned materials can be used for automatic document separation. In such a situation, the entire batch from the feeder is divided into as many documents as there are separators. Based on the information contained in the barcodes, the Kofax Express 3.2 software performs automatic indexing, as well as allows the creation of file names based on the indexes.
Separation of documents can also be done using white paper or a special separation sheet. Kofax Express 3.2 also has a manual indexing function supported by OCR technology: Zone OCR functions. Using them drastically reduces indexing time and reduces errors.
