Advantech

Advantech was founded in 1983 and is headquartered in Taiwan. The company is the undisputed number one in services and industrial automation system solutions used in Industry 4.0, IoT systems including LoRaWAN (LPWAN), transportation and energy. The company's revenue in 2010 was just $231 million, while already in 2017 it was as high as $1.45 billion. Advantech is growing rapidly all the time. The company is recording higher and higher revenue (YoY) each year, by at least 10% (the increases assumed by the management are 8%). Advantech's financial results illustrate very well the potential hidden in the industry. In 2000, smart factories were a rarity; now Advantech has set itself the goal of modernizing all factories in line with the Industry 4.0 plan.

Advantech worldwide

In 2017, the share of total sales represented for the industrial market in America 28%, China 32%, Asia 14% and Europe 17%. It is worth noting the very high share in the American market, where such a result proves that the equipment is of the best quality and the solutions offered by Advantech perfectly meet customer needs. The company's share in the IPC (Industrial PC) segment is more than 32%. This number is successively increasing leaving far behind the competition (Siemens, less than 18%). In Poland, the manufacturer has a large facility to support the market in Poland and Eastern Europe, making technical support and access to solution presentations extremely easy for the Polish market. Advantech is annually awarded for first place in such competitions as Worldwide Industrial PC and Taiwan Excellence.

Global support

Advantech, thanks to the highly developed network of its offices, makes it possible to technically support a project established anywhere in the world. In addition, foreign customers buying solutions and equipment from another country can service the equipment directly in their home country, without the need to send it abroad. This option helps support our domestic integrators deploying their solutions around the world. The manufacturer is appreciated for the low failure rate of Advantech solutions. It creates components itself, which are able to operate under heavy load, even in the temperature range from -40°C to +80°C. Today, Advantech also produces the most durable SSDs, whose failure rate decreases every year, and in 2018 reached a record 0.08%.

Advantech creates IIoT solutions so that any factory can be upgraded to the fourth industrial revolution (Factory 4.0). The iFactory solutions are primarily designed for companies that want to use smart factories, including manufacturers of food, electronics, automobiles and energy suppliers. CNC solutions, on the other hand, were created for intelligent machine monitoring. Advantech's product portfolio includes more than 8,000 devices for a variety of industries, from small I/O modules to industrial PCs (IPCs), embedded computing systems to PCI-e cards, industrial flash drives and rack servers. Advantech's platforms offer sensing, monitoring and remote communication with data integration and analysis tools. This makes them ideal for use in various industrial sectors. In addition, Advantech offers motion control boards and all-in-one systems to meet the requirements of system integrators. Advantech-designed industrial computers and specialized servers are used on advanced process lines, in server rooms i data centers and industrial automation workstations.

Application of Advantech solutions

Drawing on extensive experience, Advantech has also created a wide range of solutions from the sphere of industrial automation dedicated to the transportation sector. This includes products designed for rail and road transportation, including devices for automatic toll collection, urban traffic management, management of highways and transportation centers, and a system for recognizing the type of cars, implemented on highways. Advantech's solutions turn ordinary systems into intelligent systems equipped with safe, energy-efficient features. They are designed for markets in sectors such as transportation, factory and machine automation and cloud infrastructure.

Among the solutions designed for smart factories, Advantech offers, for example, UNO systems that bridge the previous gap between IT (information technology) and OT (operational technology). It also offers MIC and ARK, which are ideal for the worst conditions (dust, temperatures), and thanks to a unique system of expansion with optional modules, the customer gets unprecedented expansion possibilities without having to buy more central units.

Also worth noting are highly functional panel computers, Edge AI computers, cards and modules, and high-speed data processing and measurement, calibration and test execution equipment.

Thanks to the constant search for unique solutions, the company is steadily expanding, merging with smaller entities, which in practice means that each year the company's portfolio grows, and the manufacturer is already able to provide all the system components needed for modernization and the introduction of proprietary solutions, even software.

Advantech's product portfolio includes more than 8,000 devices for a variety of industries, from small I/O modules to industrial PCs (IPCs), embedded computing systems to PCI-e cards, industrial flash drives and rack servers.
